Looking for how we protect student data? This page covers visitors to our website and our text-message program. Student information in the Asperix platform is handled under each district's signed data privacy agreement and is never used for anything on this website. See Trust & Privacy.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you email us or book a call, we receive what you choose to share, such as your name, email address, district or organization, role, and your message. Demo bookings go through Calendly and may include answers to short intake questions (for example, your district and typical placement volume).
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use asperix.io. It collects standard usage information such as pages viewed, links clicked (for example, "Request a demo" or the one-pager), approximate location derived from your IP address, referring site, browser and device type. We use this in aggregate to improve the site. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not use it for advertising.
How we use information
- To respond to your questions and schedule and hold the calls you request.
- To follow up about Asperix products or services you asked about.
- To understand which pages are useful and improve the website.
- To keep the website secure and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted or cross-site advertising.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run this website and our communications. They process information on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Webflow | Website hosting |
| Google (Analytics 4) | Website usage analytics |
| Google (Workspace) | Business email |
| Calendly | Scheduling demo and intro calls |
| Twilio | Delivering text messages sent on behalf of school districts |
Links to other sites, such as our LinkedIn page, are governed by those sites' own privacy policies.
Text messages (SMS)
School districts that use Asperix can send text messages to families and students about Independent Study – Short Term. These messages are sent on behalf of your school district, name the district, and are delivered through our platform.
What we collect
Your mobile phone number, a record of when you agreed to receive messages and when you opted out, the messages sent to you and any replies, and delivery status.
How you join
You receive text messages only if you have agreed to receive them from your school or district, for example when you give the school your mobile number and agree to receive independent study texts, or when you enter your number and agree on a district page that uses Asperix.
How we use it
Only to send messages about your student's Independent Study – Short Term: when it starts and ends, what work to turn in, due-date reminders, and when work has been reviewed or needs another look. We also use it to honor STOP and HELP replies. We never send marketing or promotional messages.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers or text-message opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except your school district and the service provider that delivers the messages (Twilio), which processes them only to deliver the messages.
Your choices
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, and HELP for help. Message frequency varies with your student's independent study. Message and data rates may apply. See the text message terms.
Retention
Message records are kept as part of your district's records for the period set in the district's agreement with Asperix, then deleted. Opt-out records are kept so we can keep honoring them.
Cookies and your choices
Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Calendly shows its own cookie notice when you open the booking page.
Do Not Track. There is no common industry standard for "Do Not Track" browser signals, so our website does not respond to them differently. The choices above remain available to you.
Retention
Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Email and scheduling records are kept as long as needed to support our business relationship and then deleted.
Children
This website is intended for district and school staff. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. Text messages to students are sent only at the direction of the student's school district and are covered by the district's agreement with Asperix.
Your requests
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email info@asperix.io and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date at the top.
